KES Festoon

We haven't posted anything on our festoon for a while so thought an update would be useful, below you will find the current IET wiring regulations and BS standards.
KES festoon harnesses offer a reliable and cost-effective solution for temporary lighting when installed correctly, following the guidelines provided with each order and in compliance with current regulations.
Installation Guidance:

Every festoon lighting harness should be installed so as not to impair its ingress protection and be securely attached to a structure or support intended to carry it. Its weight shall not be carried by the supply cable, unless it has been selected for this purpose.

Festoon harness mounted less than 2.5m (arm’s reach) above floor level or otherwise accessible to accidental contact, shall be firmly fixed and so sited or guarded as to prevent risk of injury to persons or ignition of materials.

Festoon harness may be used in any length provided the overcurrent protective device in the circuit is properly rated and the conductor rating is not exceeded – cable type H05VVH2-F 2.5mm. lamp holder material: polycarbonate.

KES festoon is produced in accordance with BS7671:2018: 740.55.1.
This product is designed and manufactured entirely in-house by KES and is not affiliated with the PCE brand, except where PCE plugs or sockets are fitted.
Proven Reliability:
An excellent example of the product’s durability is the Romsey Christmas Lights, pictured top right, where the same festoon strings have been professionally installed for over 20 years without issue.
Last year alone, we manufactured 215km of festoon harnesses, with less than 3% of complaints reported. After thorough investigation, the majority of these were found to result from improper installation or misuse.
