KES Summer Event Round-Up
14/10/2022
Summer is always a busy season for KES. Of course, we’re busy all year round, but the nature of our work and the type of products we find that are in demand change with the seasons.
From late spring through to early Autumn, those heady days of summer mean people are venturing outside more and celebrating with weddings, parties, festivals, outdoor concerts, and theatre events.
Plus, with all social distancing restrictions lifted this year, it’s the first time since 2019 that outdoor events have been allowed to take place in full swing. Outdoor events take enormous planning and preparation behind the scenes; from a small party to a 4-day long festival, every event needs to be set up safely with relevant power and lighting.
That’s where KES and our brilliant customers come in. We’ve been spotting KES ‘in the wild’ all summer. Some of our fantastic clients have shared their pictures with us so we can showcase our festoon lighting, sockets and distro boards in action.
KES in the wild
From Wales in the West across to Cambridgeshire in the East, and from Scotland to the south coast of England – if you have been to any outdoor event this summer, there’s a good chance KES will have been involved somewhere along the line.
Here are some of the summer events highlights:
- Download Festival – James Hardy and his crew from JPSL were fully kitted out with KES products for the annual Download Festival in Donnington Park, Leicestershire. Armed with metres and metres of cable, stacks of sockets and distros, JPSL powered up the Download event.
- What’s the summer without a wedding or ten? Festoon lighting comes into its own for weddings and outdoor parties. Making marquees look extra inviting and lighting the way for (sometimes very boozy, wobbly) guests. The teams from IS Design in Swadlincote and Lewlec in Wales said ‘I do’ to powering and lighting multiple weddings this summer.
- It wasn’t all parties though; some dedicated people took on the Babble Ride across Britain challenge, cycling from Land’s End to John O’ Groats. The team from Innovation Power provided power to the event checkpoints. They used KES boxes like these pictured in Strathdon in the Cairngorms.
- Back to festivals, the Event Sparx crew opted for KES kit for the DSCNNCT festival in Cambridgeshire. Distro boards and sockets were in action to keep the power connected despite the event name!
- We said ‘Diolch’ (that’s Thank You in Welsh) to TJB Electricals. Not only did they opt for KES festoon lighting at various weddings this summer, but they kitted out the whole Young People’s Village at the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells. As you can see from the photos, it looked fantastic.
KES power and lighting products could also be found at the Hampshire County Show in Romsey, a country fair in Dorset and many more besides.
Events season isn’t quite over yet. This month (October), KES will be exhibiting at the Showman’s Show. The annual event occurs on the 19th and 20th October at Newbury Showground. It’s free to attend, and if you’re in the events industry, it’s 100% worth your time to visit.
We hope to see you there, and if you are attending, be sure to ask about the innovative new product we are developing that will enable our customers to monitor their energy usage on mobile devices and PCs remotely. It’s completely unique for the level of power involved, but that’s all we can say for now. Stay tuned!
