KES Support Mission Christmas
What does Christmas mean to you? Time with the family maybe, a break from work, lots of good food and drink, and presents, of course, lots of presents.
For too many people, the reality is that Christmas isn’t full of heart-warming movie-style moments. It’s a sad truth that for many households, there will be a choice between ‘heat’ or ‘eat’ this winter. Christmas is something that many families can’t afford.
The team at KES Power struggled to get their heads around this. Our head office is based in Hampshire, traditionally considered an affluent area. However, children are living in poverty all across the UK. Sometimes it’s right on your doorstep.
That’s why KES had to support Mission Christmas.
We have supported this appeal for over five years and have been a collection point for toys for more years than the team can remember.
What is Mission Christmas?
Mission Christmas is an annual project driven by the charity Cash for Kids. They help children across the UK who need it most, especially those affected by poverty, illness or neglect.
Every year Mission Christmas aims to create a Christmas for every child. Their goal is to help Father Christmas reach children living in poverty by collecting donated gifts. Supporting Mission Christmas means a child will have something to open instead of waking up to nothing on Christmas Day.
The KES team donate toys and gifts for girls and boys from newborns up to 18. This year, just like in previous years, the generosity of the KES team has been incredible (thank you, KES crew!).
We’ve collected everything from books and board games to science kits and sports equipment – quite literally, a car full of goodies!
Managing Director Brian Hamilton said, “Mission Christmas is a wonderful cause. It’s heartbreaking to think that children live in poverty, let alone wake up without a present on Christmas Day. Anything that we can do to help change that is a positive step. As always, I’m grateful for our brilliant team and how generous they’ve been.”
KES collect the toys and gifts from across the team, plus any generous donations from visitors and customers, before taking everything to Santa’s Little Helpers at Mission Christmas HQ.
Whilst the Mission Christmas campaign has finished for 2022, you can still donate online and find out more about Cash for Kids here.
